The inspiration for my project all begins with a lovely little diamond of a movie called 'The Red Balloon'. You might have heard of it, but if not, here's my short and sweet summary: it follows the journey of a little boy and a red balloon that mysteriously finds its way to him and guides him along a path, ending with an enormous bundle of balloons lifting him up into the sky, and finally setting him free. I believe that the ultimate message of this one-of-a-kind movie is one of hope and escapism, and to me, this is what a balloon symbolises, and so this is what I have begun to investigate...
