‘fashionABLE’
are a non-profit fashion brand (founded by Barrett Ward), which sell a variety
of beautiful scarves in different colours and textures aplenty. The purchasing
of one of these beauts creates sustainable business for women in Africa, who
produce the scarves. These women have been exploited in various ways due to the
effects of poverty in their country, and fashionABLE is committed to aiding the
development of these people. So when you choose to purchase a scarf, you aren’t
buying yet another meaningless piece of fabric; you are directly providing
jobs, and all of the net profits are sent back to holistically rehabilitate even
more women.
‘Scarves provide jobs, profits provide
restoration.’

‘You are ABLE to provide opportunities, and these women are ABLE to have a new choice.’
The
fact that this brand operates entirely as non-profit is truly inspiring to me,
and restores by faith in human kindness and generosity. I think that the
fashion industry definitely needs to take more notice of brands such as this,
and realise that in the grand scheme of things, money means absolutely nothing.
Greed has a grip on so many souls. I don’t know about you guys, but I believe
that without compassion, and the offering of your hand to those in need, you
don’t have anything at all.
So
if you do buy a scarf this winter, make it a fashionABLE one.
